Zack's 4th Bday!

Zack finally turned 4 on Nov. 19. He has been anticipating this day for forever. That morning, he crawled in my bed. I turned to him and said, "Happy Birthday! You are 4 now!" He said, "Now, I'm almost 5!" He got a special birthday hat from school the day before. He wore it the entire time at school and also the entire day of his birthday! He didn't want to take it off :)
We had to celebrate a few days early because Josh had to go out of town, so on Saturday, the 15th, we celebrated as a family. He chose a family party at Chuck E Cheese's over a superhero friend party at home. We had a fabulous time with Zack happily opening his presents there, eating pizza, and playing on all the games. All the kids really enjoyed themselves. We even saw Chucky himself! Very exciting...
He was very excited about his new Batman and Hulk.

He also got a new big boy bike! We still need to take some pictures of him on that. He is doing great and a few spills doesn't phase him. He gets right back on.

As we were headed home, the balloons we got for Zack made Natalie's hair stand straight up! I thought it looked very funny...
The day of his birthday, even though we were sad that Josh was gone, we had a great day. While Ashley was at school and Natalie was sleeping, Zack had the "biggest birthday bubble bath ever." We loaded up the bathtub with lots of bubbles. He had the best time making a cave of bubbles and even disappearing completely at one point. Luckily, I convinced him to not wear his birthday hat in the tub.

His superhero pose!

Our big 4 year old, all clean and handsome!

We ended our day with a trip to Chick-Fil-A (and yes, he did wear his birthday hat the entire time) and opening presents from other family at home that had arrived. A big thank you for grandparents and family! Zack is VERY excited about his new lego set, his knights, king, and dragons, and his new racing car track! I'm sure he will love to show it off to future visitors.

I chopped it off...

Yea! I have been sooooo ready to get my hair cut! My neighbor (a great hairstylist who now cuts at her home) and I have had quite the difficulty getting together, so I finally went to a hair salon, "The Studio," close to my house. What does everyone think? The hairstylist did do some long layers, but I don't think you can really tell in this picture. Josh thinks I should have gone another inch shorter, but really likes it. I think I agree with him, it is hard to know exactly the length you like when it is wet. I am happy to have my long hair gone; I was at the point where it was just driving me crazy and I was always pulling it back. Now I have to figure out how to do short hair :)

Halloween and Pumpkin Patch!

We had a great time for Halloween! We had a beautiful mermaid, "Prince Zack," and a little dancer. Note Natalie's dancing pose! Zack was also sure to tell everyone who asked that he was not a knight, or just a prince. He was "Prince Zack" (a character from the nightly stories his daddy tells him.)
We also had fun at the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. However, next time, we are going to go earlier in the month as there were hardly any good pumpkins left. We ended up buying ours at Target.
Look how big we've grown!

Where are the good pumpkins?

The hay mazes were particularly fun. They all enjoyed the smaller one better. Zack got lost in the bigger maze. Luckily, Josh heard him crying and was able to reach over the outside haystacks and pull him out.

Zack was doing much better here as he enjoyed this huge inflatable slide!
